Volkswagen Scirocco GTS revealed

Volkswagen has revealed its GTS version of the facelifted Scirocco prior to its debut in Shanghai. The GTS gets visual upgrades on the exterior and interior, but remains the same mechanically.

On the outside, the car gets new 18-inch alloy wheels, black wing mirrors, red brake callipers and the option of red or black stripes along with GTS decals.

The GTS gets details such as GTS badging on the door sills, steering and seats. Other details included in the GTS package are golf ball-style gear knob, red seams on the seatbelts, handbrake lever, gear lever surround, arm rests, floor mats and steering wheel, piano black dashboard detailing and chrome-finished window and mirror switches. The Scirocco GTS also gets the company’s second-generation infotainment system which will become standard across all Sciroccos by May-end.

Under the hood, the Scirocco GTS retains the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine from the standard car, generating 217bhp. In terms of performance, the car matches the regular Scirocco with a 0-100kph sprint time of 6.5 seconds.
